Nashville is the capital of the US State of Tennessee. It is located along the Cumberland on the north central part of the state. The city is regarded as a center of music, health care, publishing, banking and transportation industries. The city is fondly known as the 'Music City' due to its flourishing music industry. 1. Nashville is home to the Country Music's Hall of Fame. As if to illustrate fact that indeed it is the country music's capital, the windows of the building that house the Country Music Hall of Fame are designed to look like piano keys.

2. The Nashville's Music Row's RCA Studio B is where Elvis Presley recorded more than 200 songs.

3. In 1941, Nashville became the first city to get an FM Radio License in the US.

4. Originally, 'Grand Ole Opry' show was called 'The WSM Barn Dance' and it was born in Nashville.

5. The 7th and 11th presidents of United States, Andrew Jackson and James K. Polk respectively were at one time or another resident of Tennessee.

6. The city of Nashville was founded on a fine Christmas Eve in 1779.

7. Centennial Park in the city of Nashville boasts a replica of the Parthenon, a famous Greek building in Athens, Greece.

8. Nashville's Belle Meade Plantation was the home of Iroquois which went on to be the first American Horse to win the English Derby in 1881. Most of the modern thoroughbreds that have won major derbies can trace their bloodline to this great horse.

9. Goo Goo Cluster; a cluster of peanuts, caramel, marshmallow, and milk chocolate; is a confectionary made by The Standard Candy Company which is based in Nashville and has been in this business since 1912.

10. In 1837, Retired Captain William Driver nicknamed the American flag the name 'Old Glory' in the city of Nashville.
